1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Linkcore Technologies Ltd ("we", "us", or "our"), on behalf of Acorn Sacco, collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Acorn Sacco mobile application ("the App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information when you use the App:

Member number and password

Required to authenticate your account.

Full name

Displayed within the App to identify your account.

Account balances and transaction history

Fetched from the SACCO core system and displayed to you. This data is not stored on your device after the session ends.

Loan information

Loan balances, repayment schedules, and application status.

Device identifier

A unique device token used by Firebase to deliver push notifications to your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect solely to:

Authenticate your identity and provide secure access to your SACCO account.
Display your account balance, loan details, and transaction history.
Send you push notifications regarding your account (e.g. loan approvals, payment reminders).
Maintain the security and integrity of the App.

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the operation of your SACCO account.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

Your data is shared only with:

Acorn Sacco — as the account holder and legal custodian of your financial data.
Google Firebase — solely for the delivery of push notifications. Firebase receives only a device token, not your financial data.

5. Data Security

All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS). Your login password is never stored in plain text. Financial data is fetched on demand and is not persisted locally on your device beyond the active session.

6. Data Retention

Your account data is retained by Acorn Sacco in accordance with applicable cooperative society regulations. You may request deletion or export of your personal data by contacting your SACCO directly. Push notification tokens are automatically removed when you uninstall the App or log out.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data (subject to legal and regulatory obligations).
Withdraw consent for push notifications at any time via your device settings.

8. Children's Privacy

This App is intended for SACCO members aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
